Dr. Hilgendorf is authorized to represent clients before the German Patent and Trademark Office (GPTO), the German Federal Patent Court (FPC), the European Patent Office (EPO) as well as the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).

Practice Areas:

Dr. Hilgendorf joined df-mp in 2003 and is a member of the firm’s biotechnology and pharmaceuticals practice groups.

Dr. Hilgendorf has a scientific background in both chemistry and biotechnology, in particular, in protein biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology and microbiology, as well as process engineering (cell culture techniques, microbial process engineering) and plant biotechnology.

Dr. Hilgendorf's practice focuses on drafting and prosecution of patent applications. She has been involved in opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office and in providing opinions regarding infringement, validity and freedom-to-operate in the field of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.

Degree coursework (three years) in Biotechnology at the European Confederation of the Universities Basel, Freiburg, Karlsruhe and Strasbourg (EUCOR) and Diploma thesis at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (U.S.A.) in the field of cloning of adenoviral vectors for gene therapy
Diplôme d’Ingénieur en Biotechnologie/Diplom in Biotechnologie (German, French and Swiss university degree)

Diplôme d'études approfondies (DEA) Biologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire at the Ecole Supérieure de Biotechnologie de Strasbourg - Université Louis Pasteur Strasbourg, France
